At Pennard Vets, we believe in preventative medicine, but when your pet becomes ill, Pennard Vets in Tonbridge prides itself on offering the latest equipment and techniques to help find out the problem, quickly and effectively, allowing the veterinary staff to provide the highest level of veterinary care to your pet. Our equipment includes digital radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy. Our veterinary team work together to help your pet back to full health, as quickly as possible.
Pennard Vets, Tonbridge, has a close working relationship with our Sevenoaks branch, so if your pet requires facilities at Sevenoaks, we can refer if we need to.

Private 15 minute Consultations
When you are concerned about your pet your first step should be to phone your local branch to arrange a consultation at a time to suit you. We offer 15 minute consults to allow the veterinary surgeon to perform a full clinical examination and discuss your concerns and observations. If necessary, further investigations and treatment will be advised. The investigations may include:
Diagnostic Imaging Services
At Pennard Vets, Tonbridge, we offer a radiography service. Our vets are highly trained in reading radiographs, but if we require another opinion, we can call on the skills of Pete van Dongen, one of our Sevenoaks vets, who holds a Certificate in Veterinary Radiography, one of the highest qualifications possible for a vet in this field. We also offer Ultrasound, ECG and Endoscopy, allowing full investigations to be carried out for a variety of medical diseases. Full cardiac scans are offered within our branch also, if we feel this would be a useful diagnostic aid.
Surgical Services
All our vets are general surgeons, offering a high standard of care. We use the most current anaesthesia and pain relief, meaning your pet will wake up calmly and in the best nursing hands. We also offer in-house specialist orthopaedic surgery, carried out by Dr. C. Stork, Dr.med.vet., DES ChirPA, DipECVS, MRCVS, RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Dr. Stork will come in to our Sevenoaks branch, on an ad hoc basis, whenever our patients need specialist orthopaedic treatment. Dental Services
Dental disease is the most common disease we treat. Almost every pet will suffer to some degree of dental disease, so we ensure we can offer a range of dental services. Scaling, polishing and extractions can be performed if we feel this is the best for your pet. Our emphasis is on preventative dental care, so we offer advice on dental diet and dental care. This enables us to hopefully prevent further dental treatments.
Laboratory Services
At our sister site, Pennard Vets, Sevenoaks, offers full in-house laboratory services. We use:
- Modern biochemistry analyser allowing us to monitor organ function,
- Haematology machine, which counts red and blood cells
- Full range of laboratory tests, allowing us to further aid diagnosis.
This allows us to transfer our samples within branches, with samples being run the same day.
Rehabilitation and Fitness
At our sister site, Pennard Vets, Sevenoaks, we offer Hydrotherapy, Physiotherapy and Acupuncture. We are proud to be able to offer specialist orthopaedic operations and the rehabilitation that follows. Dermatology
At Pennard Vets, Sevenoaks, we offer consults with a visiting Dermatology specialist, Anita Patel BVM, DVD, MRCVS, RCVS, who takes referrals from within the veterinary group. If your vet feels it is necessary to refer your pet to the specialist, they will advise you. Click here for Anita Patel's website.
Nurse consults
Our qualified and registered nurses offer a full range of services and clinics. These include free weight checks and clinics, puppy and kitten checks, After8 clinics (for our older pets), Arthritis Clinics, feeding and nutritional advice, check ups following surgery or dental work, general pet keeping and parasite advice. They also offer nail trimming, for a minimal charge.
Puppy Party
Puppy Parties are run by two of our qualified and registered nurses, once a week on a Thursday evening. They allow puppies to socialise and owners to listen to talks by the nurses on topics, such as insurance and food. These parties are free to our clients and we offer a goody bag if the 4 week course is completed.
Pet Passports
All our vets are OV (Official Veterinarian) registered, allowing them to issue Pet Passports. They can advise on the best parasite treatment answer any questions you may have.
24-hour hospitalisation and Emergency Care
We offer 24-hour emergency veterinary and nursing cover at our Pennard Vets, Sevenoaks. We have a vet and a veterinary nurse on call 24 hours, allowing us to care for current inpatients and ensure that any emergencies are dealt with. Euthanasia Services
It is a sad fact that someday it will be time to say goodbye to your best friend and we at Pennard Vets Tonbridge understand how difficult this can be. We strive to make this event as compassionate and as painless as possible for both you and your pet. We can offer home burial or communal and individual cremation at a dedicated per crematorium, Silvermere Haven. Your pet will always be handled with respect and dignity.
